The position involves assisting the legal department with various administrative tasks. The role is crucial in managing contracts and providing support to ensure the legal department operates efficiently.
Responsibilities
Reviews contracts and assists in the management of them from first draft until approval for execution.
Provides administrative services such as answering phones, directing calls, providing information to callers, opening and routing incoming mail, handling the legal department-filing system, updating spreadsheets for tracking the status of contracts, affiliation agreements and legal matters.
Drafts general correspondences, responses to subpoenas, educational and employment record requests, and legal documents including various contracts, pleadings and response papers.
Calendaring, including scheduling meetings, arbitration hearings and court appearances.
Works regularly with departments throughout the University, Outside Counsel and Vendors.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Associates Degree and two plus years of office experience.
Knowledge of a legal environment preferred.
Must be capable of working effectively in an extremely busy environment.
