The Ballesteros Gonzalez Law Firm, P.L.L.C. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bilingual Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team in McAllen, TX. This position is crucial for supporting our legal team in managing a variety of cases, including criminal matters in both state and federal courts, as well as civil matters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for the independent development and implementation of office protocols to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can prioritize assignments effectively and manage day-to-day administrative tasks with minimal supervision. As a Bilingual Legal Assistant/Paralegal, you will be expected to utilize your strong computer skills to handle various applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging software, and case management software such as Clio. Your bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish will be essential, as many of our clients communicate in both languages. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with clients and assist in the preparation of legal documents, case files, and other essential tasks that support our legal operations. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and case files.
  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.

  • Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish to gather information and provide updates.
  • Utilize various computer applications for document preparation and case management.
  • Maintain organized records and files for easy access and retrieval.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is a MUST.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with criminal cases in state and federal courts is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Clio or similar case management software.
