About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the attorney in various areas of law, including criminal law, civil law, family law, personal injury, and estate administration. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the firm while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist the attorney in preparing legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and motions.
• Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases.
• Maintain organized files and records for easy access and retrieval.
• Manage phone communications with clients, courts, and other legal professionals while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
• Proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
• Perform research as needed to support case preparation and strategy.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in providing executive administrative support in a legal environment preferred.
• Proficient interviewing skills to gather information from clients and witnesses.
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail for accurate proofreading of legal documents.
• Familiarity with filing systems and document management practices.
