About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our business litigation and real estate law firm. This part-time position involves supporting attorneys in various legal matters, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with legal standards. The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient office operations and providing exceptional administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Conduct document review to ensure accuracy and completeness of legal filings.
• E-filing pleadings.
• Assist in legal drafting, including preparing motions, pleadings, judicial council forms, discovery, and other court documents.
• Provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing files.
• Proofread legal documents for errors and ensure adherence to formatting guidelines and local court rules.
• Entering and processing monthly billing.
• Answering phones.
• Bookkeeping, including payroll, monthly payroll tax deposits and quarterly payroll tax returns.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant with civil litigation is preferred.
• Familiarity with document review, legal drafting, data entry, and general administrative tasks is essential.
• Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational abilities and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite, E-Filing, and Adobe Pro.
• Knowledge of Clio is preferred.
• Bookkeeping with Quickbooks is a plus.
• Notary Public certification is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
