About the position

Amaro | Baldwin LLP is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support attorneys in managing their trial calendars, court filings, and preparation of legal documents. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attorneys' appearance and trial calendars
• Adhere to court filing deadlines and trial timelines
• Perform e-filing and filing with various courts (state and federal) for various motions
• Prepare pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service
• Draft and finalize notices, letters, and subpoenas
• Prepare Table of Contents (TOC) and Table of Authorities (TOA)
• Schedule depositions, court reporters, interpreters, videographers, experts, and witnesses
• Ensure case files are organized and updated
• Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and trial binders
• Format, input, retrieve, fax, scan, copy, and transmit legal documents
• Perform secretarial/administrative tasks as assigned by attorneys

Requirements

• Secretarial experience in a high volume, insurance coverage/defense
• Proficient knowledge of court filing deadlines and timelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to e-file accurately
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Fluency in English (written, verbal, and reading comprehension)
