About the position

The Legal Assistant/Paralegal at Philip J. Geib, P.C. will play a crucial role in supporting the legal team by managing and organizing case-related documents and information. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents from various cases, ensuring that all materials are readily accessible and well-maintained. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate between different groups and keep track of important documents related to ongoing cases. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines. In this role, the Legal Assistant/Paralegal will create and maintain claimants' case files, manage claims using the WebFile system, and organize documents in both paper and electronic filing systems. The candidate will also facilitate the meeting of attorney deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing essential reminders. Additionally, the role involves preparing and reviewing legal correspondence and other necessary documents, as well as timely requesting and managing healthcare provider billing statements and medical records. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and a strong attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of case management are handled efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain claimants' case files
  • Manage claims in/have familiarity with WebFile
  • Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems
  • Facilitate the meeting of attorney's deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing essential reminders
  • Prepare & review legal correspondence and other necessary documents
  • Timely request and manage healthcare provider billing statements/medical records

Requirements

  • 3 years of paralegal experience
  • Experience managing claimants' workers' compensation cases from beginning to end
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Self-driven and proactive
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time-sensitive documents
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law
