About the position

Spherion Staffing has partnered with a local Law Firm in Lakeland, Florida, to find a dedicated Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join their growing team. This position is a direct hire opportunity, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $26.00 to $36.00, depending on experience and qualifications. The working hours for this role are from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, providing a stable day shift schedule. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with various legal matters, including wealth transfer, estate planning, trust administration, and probate. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. In this role, the Legal Assistant or Paralegal will be responsible for preparing and filing estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns, as well as electronically filing probate court documents in compliance with court requirements. The candidate will also draft and proofread legal documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Effective communication with clients, attorneys, and court personnel is essential, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, is necessary for document preparation and management. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with wealth transfer, estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters.
  • Prepare and file estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Electronically file probate court documents in compliance with court requirements.
  • Draft and proofread legal documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, maintaining organization and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) for document preparation and management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, and probate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with GEMS, Prosystems, or similar estate tax return software is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective proofreading and drafting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
