About the position

Dudley DeBosier Personal Injury Lawyers is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team in New Orleans, LA. Our firm is dedicated to providing high-quality legal representation while exceeding client service expectations. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, energetic, and rapidly evolving environment. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our legal practice, including daily communication with clients and colleagues, conducting case research, and managing documentation through our case management software. In this role, you will be expected to maintain the Attorney's calendar, schedule client meetings, and ensure that all client interactions are handled with professionalism and care. You will also prepare legal documents, including demands and pleadings, and assist in drafting medical record summaries. Attention to detail is critical, as you will be responsible for maintaining billing accuracy and ensuring that all correspondence is processed efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law and litigation, along with excellent customer service skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Daily communication via phone, email, and in-person with clients and colleagues.
  • Conduct case research to support ongoing legal matters.
  • Request and maintain supporting documents for cases.
  • Review, upload, and process correspondence through case management software.
  • Schedule and maintain the Attorney's calendar effectively.
  • Schedule and participate in client meetings to discuss case progress.
  • Maintain client contact and schedule client appointments as needed.
  • Prepare legal demands, answer discovery requests, and draft pleadings.
  • Write medical record summaries and ensure billing accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an associate degree with relevant experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in Personal Injury Litigation.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding and interpretation of legal documents.

  • Experience in personal injury law and litigation is preferred.
