Slutsky Elder Law, a well-established Elder Law firm located in Plymouth Meeting, is seeking a dedicated and energetic Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of experience in an office environment or as a legal assistant/paralegal. While experience in a law firm is preferred, we value strong computer skills and a proactive attitude. The candidate should be organized, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. Adaptability and a willingness to take on new responsibilities are essential, as is a detail-oriented approach to work. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for interacting with clients and colleagues effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting various legal documents, including wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and pleadings for limited litigation matters. You will also assist clients with Medicaid applications and estate administration, along with performing clerical and administrative tasks as needed. The work schedule is typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility in the timeframe. The employer will contribute 3% of your salary into a 401(k) plan, and paid time off is also provided.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting documents such as wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and pleadings for limited litigation matters.
  • Preparing and filing Medicaid applications for clients.
  • Assisting clients with estate administration.
  • Performing administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Completing clerical tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office environment or as a legal assistant/paralegal.
  • Experience in a law firm is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organized, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Empathetic and adaptable to new responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
