About the position

A fast-paced law firm located on the northwest side of Chicago is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support its substantial immigration practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to assist clients in navigating various facets of family-based immigration law, including U visas, VAWA applications, DACA applications, residency adjustments, waivers, and citizenship matters. This full-time position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and courtesy while managing a high volume caseload. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including scheduling appointments, maintaining client files, and preparing and drafting forms, correspondence, and documents related to immigration matters. Strong writing skills are essential, as the candidate will be required to communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders. Attention to detail is crucial, as the candidate will be handling sensitive information and must ensure accuracy in all documentation. While prior experience in immigration law or working in a law firm is preferred, the firm is willing to train the right individual who demonstrates the necessary skills and dedication. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required, as the firm serves a diverse clientele. The candidate must possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and should be able to multitask and stay organized in a busy work environment. Reliable transportation and punctuality are also important attributes for this role.

Responsibilities
