About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team at Champagne Law Group, P.C. This role is crucial in supporting attorneys with various administrative tasks, particularly in immigration and family law, ensuring the smooth operation of our law office.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and screen inquiry calls and emails from prospective clients
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation
  • Maintain and organize client files
  • Perform other clerical, intake, and billing duties as assigned
  • Accurately enter client data into the firm database or client management system
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of legal forms and documents
  • Organize and maintain legal files, documents, and records in electronic and paper formats
  • Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys, scheduling meetings and ensuring effective communication
  • Assist in preparing for trials by organizing evidence and preparing trial exhibits
  • Manage case files and track deadlines, ensuring timely completion of legal processes
  • Support daily office operations, including answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Prepare and process billing and invoicing, ensuring accuracy
  • Communicate with witnesses and schedule their interviews or court appearances
  • Ensure all procedures adhere to legal regulations and firm policies
  • Work collaboratively with other legal professionals and support staff

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a law office or legal environment is preferred
  • Strong clerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent project management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in legal research techniques and tools
  • Familiarity with immigration and family law is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications, Clio Manage, Clio Grow
