About the position

The Legal Assistant position focuses on supporting attorneys in personal injury law by managing case files, preparing legal documents, and communicating with clients and other parties involved in the litigation process. The role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure efficient case management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery responses.
• Manage case files, ensuring all documents and communications are organized and up-to-date.
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and experts to gather necessary information and update clients on case progress.
• Draft client correspondence, demand letters, and other legal documents as needed.
• Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions, and maintain attorney calendars.
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists.
• Conduct legal research and gather evidence as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, court rules, and internal procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a legal assistant, specifically in personal injury law.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury litigation processes, including pre-suit and post-suit phases.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, legal management software (e.g., Clio, Needles), and legal research tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Florida court rules and procedures preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; legal assistant certification preferred but not required.
