About the position

VF Law is a mid-sized, multi-state law firm seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant/Secretary to support our land use attorneys at our Lake Oswego, OR location. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment where you will be responsible for managing various tasks and deadlines while ensuring that all legal documentation is accurate and well-organized. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will play a crucial role in drafting, reviewing, and revising correspondence, documents, and pleadings, as well as conducting legal research, including citation checks. Proficiency in typing at least 50 words per minute and familiarity with 10-key typing is essential, along with technological competencies in general computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with Prolaw is preferred but not mandatory. In this role, you will manage multiple matters and projects simultaneously, compile binders for large projects, and proofread, format, and revise various land use documents. Your responsibilities will also include performing word processing for a variety of documents, processing legal documents for distribution and electronic storage, running conflicts checks, and setting up new clients and matters. Administrative tasks such as filing, typing, and special projects will also be part of your duties. This position requires a proactive approach to work, as you will be expected to handle other duties as assigned by the attorneys. Compensation for this role will depend on your experience, and you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities
