About the position

Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our Trusts and Estates practice in downtown Bellevue. This position is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently while also thriving in a team environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is a keen attention to detail and proficiency in proofreading. The role requires a minimum of two years of experience in trusts and estates, encompassing a variety of responsibilities. These include the preparation and filing of pleadings in probate cases, drafting estate planning documents, and providing support for the preparation of Federal and Washington State Estate Tax Returns, particularly in the areas of exhibit preparation and asset summaries. The Legal Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining both physical and electronic files, preparing correspondence, typing and proofreading legal documents, and managing document organization through photocopying and scanning. Additionally, the position involves calendar management, including docketing and scheduling court dates, appointments, and meetings. Effective communication with internal and external clients, potential clients, other counsel, court officials, and messenger services is crucial. The Legal Assistant will also assist in witnessing client document signings and provide hospitality support by greeting clients. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the Trusts and Estates practice, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and filing of pleadings in Probates

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of trusts and estates experience
