About the position

The Legal Assistant position at Robert Half in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a permanent role focused on supporting the Trust and Estate Practice Group. This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as the Legal Assistant will be responsible for managing legal documentation, client communications, and case management software to ensure efficient legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Utilize case management software to ensure accurate tracking of legal proceedings.
• Communicate effectively with clients and attorneys to maintain strong working relationships.
• Assist in estate planning processes, aiding attorneys in the preparation of necessary documents.
• Manage the detail-oriented calendar, scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings.
• Draft legal documents and correspondence as required.
• Prioritize work responsibilities, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Support billing functions, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
• Utilize CompuLaw for efficient case management and tracking.
• Maintain high standards of client relations, addressing and resolving inquiries as necessary.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Case Management Software to ensure efficient handling of legal cases
• Familiarity with CompuLaw for effective management of legal deadlines
• Ability to handle Billing Functions, including invoice creation and tracking payments
• Proficiency in Calendar Management, scheduling appointments and meetings
• Strong Client Relations skills to maintain and expand client base
• Excellent Communication skills for clear and concise correspondence with clients and team members
• Experience in Estate Planning to assist clients with their long-term financial and estate planning
• Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, understanding legal terminology and procedures
