About the position

Nicolet Law is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant who will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys and paralegals in their daily tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, enjoy teamwork, and have a strong interest in helping clients navigate legal processes, particularly in personal injury law.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients, insurance providers, medical professionals, and attorneys.
• Open client files, initiate insurance claims, order records, and obtain outstanding balances and liens.
• Draft, proofread, and format correspondence and legal documents.
• Process incoming mail and documents, organize and maintain digital case files and matters.
• Assist the paralegal with duties as needed, including summarizing medical records and bills, and drafting insurance demand letters.
• Assist attorney with the drafting and filings of pleadings.
• Assist attorney in the preparation of trial.
• Manage attorney's calendar.
• Conduct legal research.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a professional office environment.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to work as part of a team, manage and prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Comfortable speaking on the phone.
• Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and customer service; ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree in legal studies OR a Bachelor's degree in any field preferred.
• Legal experience.
• Personal Injury law experience.
