About the position

The Legal Assistant position involves providing essential support to attorneys in managing litigation cases, ensuring that all documentation and communication are handled efficiently and accurately. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of legal processes and assisting in trial preparations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in managing litigation cases, including preparing case files and maintaining accurate records.
  • Organize and manage physical and electronic files, ensuring accessibility and confidentiality.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • File legal documents with courts electronically (e-filing) or in person as required.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Maintain and update attorneys' calendars with key deadlines and appointments.
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Respond to client inquiries and ensure timely communication.
  • Conduct basic legal research and gather necessary case-related information.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of litigation support experience
  • Experience working with a fast-paced plaintiff or defense firm
  • Proficiency in Apply products and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Desire for long-term employment
