AV rated, small trial firm seeking experienced legal assistants as we expand our firm. We are seeking team players who easily adapt to changing priorities, employ attention to detail in all aspects of the job, are fast learners, have superior organizational and communication skills, and can work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision. This position will initially require you to be in the office, but after demonstrating the ability to perform the work independently, can evolve into a hybrid office/home situation. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for scheduling hearings, mediations, depositions, conferences, and other events as directed by the attorneys. You will draft and review legal documents and correspondence, answer phones and speak with clients, and receive, process, and distribute incoming mail and pleadings. Additionally, you will assist in drafting legal documents including pleadings, notices of hearing, motions, and correspondence, and file court documents through the Court's E-Filing Online Portal. You will maintain, organize, and track files including documents involving contact with insurance carriers, clients, health care providers, employers, and state/local agencies in an efficient and effective manner. Maintaining litigation dockets and calendars, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines while assisting attorneys with the same will also be part of your responsibilities. You will assist attorneys in preparation for their meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, interact professionally with clients, respond to client inquiries effectively and timely, and keep clients up-to-date with the progress and status of their matters. Confidential client information must be kept in accordance with firm policies, and you will need to become familiar with the requirements of each Judge for the filing of documents, scheduling of hearings, and all other communication with the Judge.
