In this role, you will be responsible for tracking deadlines to ensure that legal documents are filed promptly, representing the organization with professionalism and integrity when interacting with clients and court officials, and maintaining strict confidentiality regarding organizational and client information. You will communicate with clients through various channels, including in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails. Additionally, you will draft, proofread, and file legal documents such as motions and letters of intent, perform administrative duties like maintaining calendars and scheduling appointments, and create and maintain case files, which may involve producing and editing transcripts. You will also be tasked with screening, directing, and prioritizing incoming calls and emails to the attorney, as well as conducting legal and background research when requested. This position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the office is running smoothly at all times
  • Support attorney in optimizing billable time
  • Track deadlines to ensure legal documents are filed in a timely manner
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity when dealing with clients and court officials
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and client information
  • Communicate with clients in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents, such as motions or letters of intent
  • Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, making photocopies, and compiling complex documentation
  • Create and maintain case files, including producing and editing transcripts
  • Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming calls and emails to the lawyer
  • Perform legal and background research when requested
  • Answer the phones and ensure great communication with clients and court officials
  • Occasional travel to the courts is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or working towards one
  • Experience working with Microsoft Suites and Google Drive
  • Paralegal Certificate (Required)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Paralegal work
  • Knowledge of Spanish and Romanian languages
