About the position

Beaty Hatch PC, an established law firm located in Downtown Vancouver, is seeking a full-time Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about the legal field. As a Personal Injury Legal Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to our legal team and assist in various legal tasks related to personal injury cases. Your responsibilities will include organizing and maintaining legal files, opening new cases, and performing data entry in our legal software program. You will also be responsible for scheduling appointments and meetings, preparing correspondence, and communicating with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters via telephone. In this position, you will assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and pleadings, handle court filings, and verify medical balances and subrogation liens. You will be tasked with obtaining and organizing medical records and bills, maintaining an Excel spreadsheet of medical expenses, payments, adjustments, and balances, and coordinating with other legal professionals to ensure an efficient workflow. General administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing calendars, sorting mail and faxes, and filing documents will also be part of your daily duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a personal injury law office, a chiropractic or similar medical office, or an automobile insurance background. Bilingual candidates who speak Spanish, Russian, or Romanian are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain personal injury legal files and documents
  • Open new cases and perform data entry in legal software program

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
