About the position

The Corporate Legal Assistant at Magic Matrix will provide essential support to the legal team, focusing on contract management, legal proceedings, and compliance. This part-time role offers flexibility with a hybrid work environment, allowing for both remote and in-office work as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze contracts, identifying key terms and potential risks.
  • Assist in the negotiation, execution, and management of contracts.
  • Maintain an organized database of contracts and related documents.
  • Draft and revise contracts, agreements, and other legal documents as required.
  • Ensure all legal documents comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support legal proceedings related to the company, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
  • Assist in gathering, organizing, and presenting legal documents and evidence.
  • Conduct legal research on various topics and provide summaries and recommendations to the legal team.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business.
  • Manage the legal department's administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Ensure that the company remains compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
  • California bar certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in contract management and creation.
  • Familiarity with legal proceedings and court procedures.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of legal software and tools is a plus.
  • Must be able to read/write Mandarin.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in drafting legal documents such as contracts is a plus.
