About the position

The law office of Bryant Miller Olive is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Assistant to support the Public Finance group in our Tallahassee office. This position offers a supportive, team-driven, and family/life-friendly work environment, where we place a high value on our staff. As a Legal Assistant, you will have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities and potentially transition into a Paralegal role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include word processing, drafting and editing documents in Microsoft Word, organizing closing transcripts, filing federal and state forms, and recording documents in various counties. You will also be involved in the preparation for, coordination, and scheduling of closings, as well as managing the post-closing process. Communication with clients through telephone and email will be a key part of your role, along with other duties as needed. To be successful in this position, you should have at least two years of legal administrative experience, with a preference for candidates who have a four-year degree. Strong word processing skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, are essential. You should be able to work independently or as part of a team, possess excellent proofreading and editing skills, and have effective communication abilities. Attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and flexibility for overtime are also important traits for this role. While experience in public finance, real estate, or other types of transactional law is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. Certification as a Paralegal by The Florida Bar is a plus but not mandatory. Bryant Miller Olive offers a comprehensive benefits package, including employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and supplemental insurance options. We also provide a generous paid-time-off plan, potential for year-end bonuses, profit sharing, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching. Our work environment is business-casual, and we encourage you to apply if you meet our qualifications.
