About the position

Amundsen Davis, a full-service business law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a strong team and an excellent firm culture. This position is integral to supporting teams involved in transactional matters such as real estate transactions, contracts, and other business-related legal activities. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in legal support, particularly in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and formatting documents according to legal standards and firm guidelines, assisting in the preparation of transactional documents such as closing binders and deal summaries, and managing the opening of new client files. You will also assist in the review, editing, and preparation of client billing, as well as the preparation and filing of legal documents with government agencies and regulatory bodies. Additionally, you will manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments related to transactions. Organizing and maintaining transactional documents and files, both electronically and in hard copy, is crucial. You will handle phone calls, emails, and other correspondence related to transactional matters, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and requirements. Maintaining strict confidentiality of client information and sensitive legal matters is paramount in this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least 5-10 years' experience as a legal secretary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and document management systems.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to be proactive, assertive, and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Clear and concise communication skills with a solution-oriented approach.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
