About the position

We are seeking a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team at ALWS Solutions in Bedminster, NJ. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a passion for law and exceptional organizational skills. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for communicating with the law enforcement community regarding life-threatening situations, ensuring that all cases are correctly documented and managed in compliance with applicable laws and company procedures. This position demands a strong understanding of basic legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures, as well as the ability to work independently and accurately under pressure. The Legal Assistant will handle a variety of tasks including entering customer and account data from source documents within time limits, compiling and verifying the accuracy of information, and preparing source data for computer entry. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role involves reviewing data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities, and checking output. The Legal Assistant will also resolve deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team lead or supervisor for resolution. This position is full-time and requires a commitment to working as part of a team, demonstrating sound decision-making skills, and understanding when a matter needs to be escalated or referred to management to achieve the best possible outcome for all parties involved. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the law enforcement community regarding life-threatening situations 24x7x365 by answering calls and authenticating the caller.
  • Ensure that all cases are correctly documented and managed end to end in compliance with applicable laws and company procedures.
  • Understand and learn about basic legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
  • Enter customer and account data from source documents within time limits by following policies and procedures.
  • Compile, verify accuracy, and sort information to prepare source data for computer entry.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output.
  • Resolve deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team lead/supervisor for resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • 1 year of customer service experience (preferred).
  • 1 year of call center experience (preferred).
  • 1 year of legal experience (preferred).
  • Proficient typing and transcription skills.
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team and demonstrating sound decision-making.
