About The Position

Quikaid, Inc. is seeking a Legal Brief Writer to join their Hearings Department, focusing on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims. This role is crucial for advocating for clients and ensuring favorable outcomes in their disability claims. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and research skills, with a background in legal or medical fields, and will be responsible for drafting briefs and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience working in an SSDI or SSI representation firm, or in an equivalent capacity at the Social Security Administration (SSA) or Disability Determination Service (DDS).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to address client needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to write effectively and persuasively, with clear and organized communication.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including strong skills in internet research and multitasking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an SSDI or SSDI representation firm, such as a law firm or non-attorney representation firm.
  • College education preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a legal firm preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, medical providers, contracted Hearings Representatives, the Social Security Administration, and Administrative Law Judges to gather and convey essential information.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and order medical records to strengthen and support disability claims.
  • Draft pre-hearing briefs that summarize the medical and factual evidence of a claim, using proprietary brief-writing tools.
  • Prepare additional pre- or post-hearing memorandums and documentation as required to support case development and adjudication.
  • Develop claims comprehensively, tailoring strategies to the unique facts and circumstances of each individual case.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure all necessary actions are completed, optimizing the likelihood of a favorable outcome for clients.
