About the position

The Document Management Analyst/Legal Clerical Assistant position at ARK Solutions, Inc. is a long-term contract role based in Columbia, SC, expected to last until the end of 2027. This position requires a dedicated individual to perform a variety of clerical and document management tasks in support of major litigation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials, as well as creating witness binders and preparing deposition and trial exhibits. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role involves entering data into case files and databases, proofreading, editing, and correcting OCR'd text files. The candidate will also be tasked with retrieving and managing documents and digital image media, including tabbing, numbering, labeling, and assembling documents, while maintaining log sheets and reporting on task progress. Quality control of peer work is also a significant aspect of this role. In addition to these responsibilities, the Document Management Analyst will prepare documents for image scanning and engage in other document collection activities, such as screening and labeling files for scanning. The role requires excellent writing and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to perform simple database searches and archive files. The candidate will also handle moderately complex litigation support tasks, which may include detailed review and analysis of case materials across various subject matters, such as financial records and healthcare materials. This includes detailed indexing of case files, drafting procedures for litigation support assignments, and conducting database searches while screening for privileged documents. The position may require the candidate to serve as a team leader for a larger group of Document Management Technicians and clerical support staff, often working with minimal supervision. The Document Management Analyst will report to either a Task Supervisor or Project Supervisor, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience on major litigation support projects or an undergraduate degree.
  • Excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities.
  • Substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Public Trust Federal Security clearance preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Client tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources preferred.
