About the position

As the Labor & Employment Legal Content Analyst at LexisNexis Legal & Professional, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the content related to labor and employment law. Your primary responsibility will be to design, own, and execute the content upkeep process for the Labor & Employment practice area. This involves performing legal research and editorial tasks to update existing Practical Guidance content, ensuring that it reflects the most current legal standards and practices. You will need to monitor current awareness and stay abreast of changes in law, which is essential for maintaining the relevance and accuracy of the content you manage. In addition to updating content, you will draft or revise various materials, including templates, practice notes, and checklists, to support legal professionals in their work. You will oversee and execute Practical Guidance content remediation projects aimed at improving the customer experience, ensuring that the content is not only accurate but also user-friendly. A firm understanding of editorial processes and style guidelines is necessary, as you will be responsible for enforcing best practices in content creation and management. Your role will also involve improving operational effectiveness by standardizing and streamlining processes, creating documentation, and making recommendations for continuous improvement in the editorial workflow. Meeting or exceeding production and quality requirements will be a key performance indicator for your success in this position. You will participate in training as required and may be assigned additional tasks that align with your expertise and the needs of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, own, and execute the content upkeep process for the Labor & Employment practice area
  • Perform legal research and editorial tasks associated with updating existing Practical Guidance content
  • Monitor current awareness and stay abreast of changes in law
  • Draft or revise content, including templates, practice notes, and checklists
  • Oversee and execute Practical Guidance content remediation projects focused on improving the customer experience
  • Acquire a firm understanding of editorial processes / style guidelines and enforce best practices
  • Improve operational effectiveness by standardizing and streamlining processes, creating documentation, and making recommendations for continuous improvement in editorial workflow
  • Meet or exceed production and quality requirements
  • Participate in training as required and perform additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Have a Juris Doctorate degree and two+ years of practice experience in employment law
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills
  • Be adept at maintaining an organized workflow while ensuring accuracy through close attention to detail
  • Have knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style and Bluebook citation rules
  • Be able to prioritize and meet critical deadlines
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing business demands
  • Show interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess technical aptitude
  • Be a curious learner with a demonstrated growth mindset
