About the position
The Legal Counsel, Contracts position at Western Digital involves providing high-quality legal support to the Procurement Organization. This role includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements while collaborating with internal stakeholders and outside counsel. The position is integral to the Contract Management Organization and requires a proactive approach to risk management and contract efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial contracts, including professional services agreements, purchase agreements, and software licensing agreements.
- Identifying and advising internal clients on risks associated with transactions and proposing risk mitigation strategies.
- Overseeing the work product of contract managers and collaborating with team members within the Contract Management Organization.
- Supporting and improving the contract management process to enhance efficiency.
- Working on special projects as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant transactional experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to identify goals, risks, and strategies with internal business clients.
- Experience in the technology industry is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
