About the position

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, interpreting, and negotiating various construction contracts while collaborating with senior legal staff and operations management. This role involves providing legal guidance and support on change management, risk management, and dispute resolution related to construction projects. The Legal Counsel will also have opportunities to work on diverse legal matters, including Civil Litigation and Labor & Employment, while being based in Thornton, Colorado with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts including EPC agreements, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Provide legal support and draft documentation for disputes involving construction projects.
  • Ensure timely completion and proper organization of relevant project documents.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to internal and external inquiries.
  • Maintain records necessary for effective dispute resolution.
  • Comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of construction law experience.
  • Law degree required.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state jurisdiction.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of construction and contract law, including key risk-shifting provisions.
