About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level generalist attorney curious to learn and support different businesses in the specialty chemical industry within the Huber Portfolio. This role would complement our central team of experienced attorneys and legal support staff based out of Atlanta to support the growth of our business globally. The nature of the work includes compliance, transactional day-to-day as well as strategic projects such as M&A.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate non-disclosure agreements
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including, but not limited to, procurement, sales, and distribution agreements
  • Assist with the annual employee ethics program survey process and ethics program administration
  • Research and draft summaries & recommendations on new and emerging laws, rules, and regulations in various geographical regions
  • Provide transactional and due diligence legal support on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures as needed
  • Provide legal support on real estate agreements and leases
  • Evaluate and manage claims and litigation proceedings as assigned
  • Assist in handling matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Huber's principles
  • Assist with management of and administration of legal operations and systems
  • Work effectively with outside counsel and manage them in a cost-conscious manner in compliance with Huber's outside counsel policy
  • Streamline intake for legal advice and implement legal review tools and processes (e.g., templates or self-help tool kits) to enhance efficiency of the legal function and ensure client satisfaction
  • Enable the business to achieve its targets while respecting Huber's principles and applicable laws; assist in embedding these principles into the business processes and decisions

Requirements

  • J.D. degree (or equivalent) from an accredited law school; admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
  • Between five (5) to seven (7) years' experience as a licensed attorney
  • Experienced in drafting and negotiating commercial transactions
