About the position

The Legal Intake Transition Coordinator at ICF plays a crucial role in providing legal services for Unaccompanied Children (UC) post-release from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) care. This position involves gathering and documenting intake information, coordinating with legal teams, and ensuring effective communication with families regarding case status. The coordinator will work closely with service providers and legal professionals to facilitate the legal needs of unaccompanied children and support their transition post-release.

Responsibilities

  • Set up case files in the case management system.
  • Complete legal services intake screens.
  • Send complete information to the Legal Triage Director(s) for prioritization and matching.
  • Establish good working relationships with assigned PRS providers and other related ORR contract providers.
  • Collaborate with the legal services team on cases transitioning to pro bono legal assignments.
  • Communicate quarterly with Unaccompanied Children/sponsor families regarding case status and needs.
  • Ensure all cases are updated quarterly and closed out in the case management system when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • 2+ years of experience in direct services provision with children and/or families.
  • English/Spanish bilingual.
  • 1+ years of experience with unaccompanied minors and refugee programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues, particularly related to UC and sponsor families.
  • Education and/or experience in race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services.
  • Working knowledge of refugee, immigrant, and asylee challenges.
  • Experience working for a refugee program.
  • Experience working with the legal community.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting environment.
