About the position
The Legal Intern position at Universal Health Services, Inc. offers an opportunity for law students to gain practical experience in the healthcare and insurance industries. The intern will work closely with attorneys in the UHS Corporate Legal Department and the Corporate Compliance Department, engaging in various legal and compliance-related assignments. This part-time internship is designed for students who are eager to learn and contribute to impactful projects while receiving guidance from experienced legal professionals.
Responsibilities
- Conducts factual and legal research and analysis related to healthcare laws and regulations and healthcare policy; drafts contracts.
- Drafts and prepares memorandums, contracts, legal training presentations, policies, and other corporate documents.
- Gains understanding of the UHS business model and how the Legal Department functions as part of the business.
- Participates in department and other meetings to learn ongoing initiatives.
Requirements
- Active enrollment in good standing in an accredited law degree program and beginning 2nd or 3rd year of law school in the Fall of 2024.
- GPA Minimum: 3.00
- Working knowledge and competence using standard PC software programs, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Healthcare experience preferred.
