About the position

The Legal Operations Analyst at Syneos Health plays a crucial role in providing operational support to the Office of General Counsel (OGC). This position is designed to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of various teams, including Legal, Compliance, Quality, CRES, Data Privacy, and Information Security. The analyst will be responsible for managing electronic billing and matter management software, ensuring that all processes align with the OGC Billing Guidelines. This role requires collaboration with attorneys to create legal matters, resolve invoice discrepancies, and conduct monthly audits of legal charges. The analyst will also work closely with the finance team to analyze data and prepare reports for the General Counsel. In addition to financial responsibilities, the Legal Operations Analyst will assist in operational tasks, such as researching and demoing new technology solutions, serving as a liaison for technology vendors, and facilitating training sessions for team members. The analyst will support the OGC leadership with monthly reporting and presentations, while also identifying areas for process improvement initiatives. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as the analyst will act as a point of contact for team members and assist in team-building activities. Overall, the Legal Operations Analyst is integral to fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment within the OGC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electronic billing and matter management software, including creating matters for the legal team and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancy issues and review outside counsel submissions for unpaid invoices.
  • Respond to vendor and firm inquiries regarding billing.
  • Ensure compliance with OGC Billing Guidelines for invoice submissions.
  • Conduct monthly reviews and audits of legal charges, including accruals and spend report preparations with finance.
  • Collaborate with finance to analyze data and report findings to the General Counsel.
  • Assist the Manager with technology solutions, including researching and demoing new technology.
  • Act as an administrator for all OGC technology systems and train new team members.
  • Schedule learning and development sessions for the OGC, including content creation and presenter coordination.
  • Support monthly reporting and presentation needs of OGC leadership.
  • Partner with OGC teams to identify challenges and areas for process improvement, leading initiatives as necessary.
  • Facilitate team connectivity through newsletters, announcements, and other communications.
  • Serve as the point of contact for visiting team members and team-building activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in processing and managing electronic billing and matter management software.
  • Some legal or administrative experience preferred, but not required.
  • College education or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software.
  • Above average attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
