About the position

The Legal Operations Specialist at Umbra plays a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of the legal team and streamlining operations. This position supports the company's mission to lead the industry in providing high-quality satellite data by managing contract processes, overseeing external legal service providers, and implementing legal technology solutions. The role requires collaboration across various company groups and reports directly to the Vice President, Head of Legal.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Legal group's strategic plan, aligning it with the company's overall business strategy.
  • Provide robust support for contract management, including drafting, reviewing, tracking contracts, ensuring compliance, and managing databases.
  • Oversee relationships with external legal service providers, manage their performance, and enhance cost-efficiency.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations and support the preparation of regulatory submissions.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of legal technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity while ensuring data security.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Head of Legal, to manage the legal department's budget, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of legal operations.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository of team knowledge, including templates, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the legal team.
  • Analyze data trends, key metrics, and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in other projects as needed and contribute your skills where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in legal operations or legal project management, with a strong understanding of contract management, legal technology, and vendor management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with legal software and systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile framework.
