About the position

This position offers an outstanding opportunity for a payroll and benefits professional to transition into a managerial role at a well-regarded, progressive downtown law firm. The firm is looking for a candidate with a solid background in payroll and benefits administration, ideally within a law firm or professional services organization, to oversee payroll and benefits operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll and benefits, including developing, implementing, and monitoring the payroll system, performing internal audit and control procedures to ensure accuracy of wages and taxes.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration, collaborating closely with the HR team to provide excellent customer service to employees.
  • Oversee bi-weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy, researching and analyzing discrepancies, and processing corrections as needed.
  • Provide detailed information and documentation regarding payroll-related issues and recommend solutions.
  • Manage benefits administration, including preparing eligibility notices and assisting with new employee enrollment.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and collaborate with HR on Open Enrollment activities, ensuring employees are informed of any changes to plans and providing accurate enrollment information to providers.
  • Assist employees with benefits questions, helping them interpret payroll laws, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a law firm or professional services organization.
  • Experience with ADP and Workforce is critical.
