We are an established, mid-sized law firm located in Newberg, Oregon, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary/Assistant to support our growing practice in various areas, primarily focusing on estate planning. This full-time position requires a local candidate who is looking to establish a long-term working relationship with our firm. The role is non-remote and involves a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our legal practice. As a Legal Secretary/Assistant, you will be responsible for transcribing dictation and editing legal documents, drafting correspondence, and interacting with clients to ensure their needs are met. You will also be tasked with calendaring court dates and appointments, as well as performing general office duties that contribute to the overall efficiency of the firm. This position is crucial in providing support to our attorneys and ensuring that all legal processes are handled with precision and care. The ideal candidate will possess prior paralegal experience or hold a paralegal certificate, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, and Excel. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a keen attention to detail. We are looking for someone who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and contribute positively to our team environment. A full-time candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, retirement options, profit sharing, paid vacation, and sick leave. The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $20 to $25 per hour, with expected hours of 40 per week.
