As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Plaintiff's Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join our dynamic team. This part-time position is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized individual who is passionate about the legal field and committed to delivering exceptional client service. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to our attorneys, which includes managing their calendars, scheduling appointments, and maintaining communication with clients. You will be responsible for preparing, editing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence, ensuring that all materials are accurate and professionally presented. Additionally, you will assist with court filings, document indexing, and e-filing procedures, as well as maintaining and organizing client files and electronic records. Effective communication is key in this position, as you will be interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. You will handle incoming and outgoing calls, emails, and correspondence, ensuring that all communications are conducted professionally and courteously. Furthermore, you will assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits and trial binders, and perform other administrative and clerical tasks as needed to support the legal team. This role requires a strong commitment to confidentiality and discretion, as you will be handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing their calendars, scheduling appointments, and contacting clients.
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
  • Assist with court filings, document indexing, and e-filing procedures.
  • Maintain and organize client files and electronic records.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally and courteously.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls, emails, and correspondence.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and trial binders.
  • Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as needed to support the legal team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar role, with experience in workers' compensation and/or litigation being a plus.
  • Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software; Needles or NEOS experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Professional phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong administrative and clerical skills.
