About the position

The Legislative Budget Analyst plays a crucial role in analyzing and preparing recommendations regarding the Governor's proposed budget. This position involves participating in the negotiation and preparation of budget bill copy and memoranda for consideration by the Members of the Assembly, monitoring expenditures, and reviewing financial reports. The analyst will also draft and analyze legislation, present bills in Committee meetings, and develop policies and programs while performing oversight functions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare recommendations concerning the Governor's proposed budget.
• Participate in the negotiation and preparation of budget bill copy and memoranda for Assembly consideration.
• Monitor expenditures and review relevant financial reports.
• Draft, develop, and analyze legislation in appropriate substantive areas.
• Orally present bills in Committee meetings and answer questions from Committee Members regarding legislation.
• Develop policies and programs, and perform oversight functions.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Benefits

• Salary range from $55,000 to $60,000 annually.
• Full-time employment with a permanent appointment.
• Workweek from Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
