About the position

The Legislative Researcher position with the Hawaiʻi State Senate Ways and Means Committee is a temporary, full-time role focused on analyzing legislative proposals and supporting policy development. The role is crucial for ensuring informed decision-making within the committee, particularly during the legislative session from December to May.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on legislative proposals, assessing their fiscal impact and implications for the State of Hawaii.
• Prepare high-quality bill drafts, committee reports, and legislative recommendations that are clear, concise, and aligned with committee goals.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the legislative process, including timelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field preferred.
