About the position

The Technical Writer at LEGOLAND California Resort is responsible for planning, writing, and editing working process instructions for Rides Maintenance activities. This role involves translating existing task practices into detailed procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and creating clear technical documents that support safe working practices for maintenance engineers. The position requires collaboration with various teams to document procedures, training materials, and safety standards, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of operations within the resort.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and edit working process instructions for Rides Maintenance activities.
• Develop, organize, and compose clear technical documents, including diagrams and flow charts.
• Document work procedures to meet internal and local regulations and audit findings.
• Collect data by interviewing engineers and observing work practices to identify current procedures.
• Illustrate equipment and procedures using photos or diagrams for documentation.
• Record and document procedures and standards for existing and new operations.
• Utilize document control methods to maintain version and access control of documentation.
• Update and edit document templates for procedures and training records.
• Submit finished documentation for review by department manager and compliance management.
• Translate written text to CMMS platform for technicians to record inspection tasks.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to write in procedural style with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety standards and regulations.
• Proven ability to articulate health and safety processes to influence others.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in technical writing within a maintenance or engineering environment.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and document control methods.
