About the position

The Lending Operations Analyst I is a vital member of the Operations Team, responsible for supporting the processing of all bank portfolio loans. This role is crucial in a high-impact, deadline-driven environment, where the analyst acts as a leader and liaison between lending functions and operations. The Lending Operations Analyst is tasked with providing project management leadership for loan development projects and participating in communications and compliance efforts. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of bank operations and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. In this role, the Lending Operations Analyst will serve as a resource for problem-solving related to loan operations, procedural issues, training, and logistics. The analyst ensures that all departmental documents and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including the completion of required compliance training. As a project manager, the analyst will oversee the timely and effective implementation of changes within the unit, collaborating closely with loan operations managers and supervisors to delegate workload duties among associates. This collaboration is essential to ensure that workflow is processed efficiently and accurately, with the analyst examining work in progress and communicating any issues to management. The Lending Operations Analyst will also handle inquiries from employees and stakeholders across the enterprise, acting as the designated subject matter expert (SME) for the unit. This requires maintaining detailed records of all work responsibilities and responding to Help Desk incidents and requests. The analyst will support end-user access to lending software and participate in the maintenance and development of lending information systems programs. Additionally, the role may involve performing special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the lending operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource and liaison for problem-solving regarding all loan operational, procedural, training, and logistical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a project manager for timely and effective implementation of changes in the unit.
  • Collaborate with loan operations managers and supervisors on workload delegation to ensure timely processing.
  • Examine work in progress for accuracy and timeliness, communicating issues to management.
  • Recommend changes or alternate processing methods to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Handle inquiries from employees and stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
  • Maintain detailed records on all work responsibilities as required.
  • Respond to Help Desk incidents and requests.
  • Maintain operating systems for functional efficiency.
  • Support end-user access to lending software.
  • Participate in the maintenance and development of lending information systems programs.

Requirements

  • Specific loan operations knowledge required.
  • Some college/university experience or an Associate's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience required; banking operations and/or customer service experience preferred.
