About the position

The Business Development Manager for Verticals at CDW is a pivotal role designed to drive growth and establish CDW as a preferred vendor in the IT solutions market. This position requires a strategic approach to engage with high visibility corporate accounts and projects, focusing on understanding and addressing the business needs of C-level clients. The successful candidate will leverage CDW's partnerships with manufacturers to provide tailored solutions that meet the evolving demands of customers in various sectors, including business, government, education, and healthcare. In this role, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for applying project management techniques to ensure successful delivery of solutions. This includes coordinating with the sales team to identify target markets and accounts, reviewing the current state of relationships within selected accounts, and assisting in the execution of growth strategies. The manager will also be tasked with developing a long-term pipeline of opportunities and fostering relationships with key organizations and manufacturers to align CDW's offerings with customer needs. The position requires a proactive approach to influence multiple stakeholders within customer organizations, including executives and technical experts, to shape the final requirements of target opportunities. The Business Development Manager will act as a subject matter expert during customer visits, presentations, and conference calls, ensuring that CDW's value proposition is effectively communicated. Additionally, the role involves coordinating necessary legal and financial agreements prior to RFP releases and driving incremental revenue and profit growth within the identified account base. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills to identify trends in customer purchasing patterns and develop specific plans to help sales teams capture a greater share of business. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines and facilitating change.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key organizations and manufacturers
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders at the customer to influence final requirements
  • Deliver CDW's value proposition around eProcurement and support
  • Act as the subject matter expert for customer visits and presentations
  • Coordinate with appropriate resources to execute necessary legal and financial agreements
  • Drive incremental revenue and profit growth within the identified account base
  • Identify trends in customer purchasing patterns and enact specific plans to help sales teams
  • Articulate value proposition to partners and customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years customer facing sales/marketing/business development experience
  • Strong customer facing skills with a history of building solid relationships with C-level contacts
  • Proven record of success in navigating procurement departments for additional opportunities
  • Proven ability to influence across all functions of an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration behavior with excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to find solutions while working independently
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects, meet deadlines, facilitate change and delegate responsibility
