About the position

The Lethality Test and Analysis Engineer at PeopleTec Inc. is responsible for supporting various Department of Defense and Department of Energy programs through system and component-level analyses. The role involves conducting hydrocode and hydrostructural analyses, collaborating on experiment design, and effectively communicating findings to senior officials. This position offers the opportunity to work with experts in hypervelocity impact testing and contribute to innovative solutions for national challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-test and post-test analyses of hypervelocity impact events using hydrocode and hydrostructural analysis.
  • Provide support to various test and analysis programs for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Energy (DOE).
  • Collaborate with DOD and DOE personnel in designing experiments and developing analysis programs.
  • Communicate results and findings through detailed presentations and reports to senior-level government and corporate officials.
  • Integrate hands-on test execution and hardware preparation with modeling and simulation efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience running and interpreting structural and hydrodynamic simulations using tools such as CTH, ALE3D, Zapotec, Paradyne, and/or Abaqus Explicit.
  • Experience with HPC environments, including job scheduling, resource allocation, and parallel processing for efficient simulation execution.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB for automating simulations and performing complex data analyses.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required upon hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science Degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline with 4 years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline with 6 years of professional experience.
