About the position

The Level 2 Tech Support Engineer is responsible for managing escalated tickets from the Level 1 support team, providing effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills primarily within a Windows environment. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual looking to expand their knowledge and involvement in various IT projects, including firewalls, networks, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Handle escalated tickets from the Level 1 support team.
  • Provide troubleshooting support primarily within Windows environments.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding their technical issues.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to VMware, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to track and manage support requests.
  • Assist with DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and LAN/WAN issues.
  • Support financial software applications like QuickBooks and Sage.
  • Perform patch management and manage Microsoft updates.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • 3 to 6 months of experience in a similar role, preferably in a temp-to-perm capacity.
  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
  • Solid troubleshooting skills in Windows environments (95% proficiency).
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in customer interactions.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and LAN/WAN configurations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Knowledge of printers and patch management processes.
