About the position

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a suite of software applications. This role involves implementing, testing, and integrating software with various commercial and open-source products. The engineer will work on complex systems that may include analytics, algorithm development, and data manipulation, ensuring adherence to design requirements and resolving software issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Implement software development activities including testing and integration with COTS and FOSS products.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and provide input to system design regarding hardware/software trade-offs.
• Utilize appropriate software development and design methodologies for the development environment.
• Develop scripts using Bash/Python and work with Java in a Linux environment.
• Work with NoSQL databases and containerization technologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science or related discipline plus three years of experience as a Software Engineer, or
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline plus five years of experience as a Software Engineer, or
• Seven years of experience as a Software Engineer.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Experience creating Helm Charts for deploying containerized services on Kubernetes.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence.
