About the position

The Level 3 IT Technician position at one of Houston's leading managed service providers involves providing high-quality IT services and technical assistance to clients. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can handle various IT scenarios and ensure client satisfaction through efficient service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each client's experience meets or exceeds their expectations
  • Enter DAILY time entry accounting for at least 9 hours (8 work hours and 1 hour lunch)
  • Thoroughly and accurately document Client Networks
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot VoIP telephone systems
  • Handle T&M service requests
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Google Workplace and Microsoft 365
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives and other equipment
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Network Servers (Experience with Windows Server is preferred)
  • Take ownership of tasks and follow through to ensure complete resolution
  • Work well in highly stressful situations
  • Work independently while contributing to the team
  • Quickly learn new technologies using self-study materials and research
  • Articulate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people
  • Enjoy sharing information, supporting others, and working on a team to achieve team goals
  • Participate with On-Call rotation

Requirements

  • Engineer with at least five years' experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience - Cisco Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewall Support
  • Minimum 2 years' experience - Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support
  • Minimum 2 years' experience - Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support
  • Minimum 2 years' experience - Azure/AWS
  • At least one certification. The following certifications are preferred: MCITP, MCP, CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Project+, Network+, Apple
  • Solid dependable engineer who follows directions and maximizes billing opportunities
  • Consistently receives positive feedback from clients
  • Able to lift PC equipment (50lbs) and run local cabling
  • Must have reliable transportation
