About the position

The Data Center Field Technician II position involves supporting an office refresh project for a duration of approximately one month. The role requires experienced technicians to perform complex assignments with minimal oversight, focusing on hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance within data centers. Technicians will work under the guidance of senior staff and are expected to adhere to established procedures and policies while ensuring high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Install, move, decommission, and troubleshoot hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, and various cables.
• Confirm and label devices, racks, and cables accurately.
• Utilize a standard ticketing system for customer communications and task management.
• Work under the direction of senior technicians and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform design redlining and produce detailed reports and documentation.
• Fulfill on-call duties on a rotating basis as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow directions from senior technicians.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour.
• Experience with cabling systems (power/copper/fiber) according to SOP standards.
• Experience with CAT5e and CAT6 copper cable and multi-mode/single-mode fiber.
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and networking components.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and understanding of Data Center best practices.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (if certified).
• Proficiency with standard desktop applications like MS Office.

• Certifications in Networking, Server/IT infrastructure, and Data Center technologies.
