About the position

The Level II/III Radiographer and NDT Supervisor at Armtec Defense Technologies is responsible for leading all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) efforts within the organization. This role involves maintaining and updating NDT qualification and certification programs, overseeing technical and compliance aspects of NDT, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. The position requires collaboration with various teams to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments while supporting the mission-critical work of the company in the defense sector.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper operation of all instrumentation, test and measuring equipment.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of X-ray equipment and appropriate electronic image storage.
  • Direct daily work assignments for radiographic inspection personnel to meet quality, cost and schedule commitments.
  • Provide oversight of all technical and compliance related aspects of NDT such as developing, qualifying and approving procedures, and establishing and approving techniques.
  • Serve as the plant Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Train, develop and certify NDT personnel to include the implementation of an existing qualification and certification process along with all related administrative tasks to assure current and future needs are met.
  • Administer the companys relative training courses. Maintain and update training plans as necessary.
  • Periodically review and assist in the update of certification examinations to ensure effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance of NDT program with state, federal regulations and customer requirements.
  • Maintain and update state licensing records for changes in equipment and/or personnel.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards.
  • Understand and live by Armtecs ethics and business conduct policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in Quality/Manufacturing/CI/Test/NDT processes (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Radiography NAS410 and ASNT Level II / III certification.
  • Experience as a Level III desirable.
  • Direct experience in NDT, including interpretation of radiographic images.
  • Must possess technical skills and interpersonal skills such as good communication and writing skills.
  • Must be a team player, who can work independently and support all product requirements.
  • Must have a clear understanding of safety rules and regulations.
