About the position

The Luggage Handling System Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of airport operations at the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Airport. This role ensures efficient and safe functioning of airport operations, manages a team of operations staff, coordinates with airlines and airport authorities, and implements operational procedures and policies. The Operations Manager also plays a crucial role in crisis management and is tasked with continuously analyzing and improving operational processes to enhance efficiency and passenger experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as full owner of all maintenance strategies and plans; focused on meeting business needs
  • Executes effective PM and work order programs using predictive and preventive technologies
  • Has a pulse on day-to-day operations to understand priorities
  • Actively promotes a safety culture and creates strong partnerships with business partners to foster an environment where safety is embedded into everyday practices
  • Ensures maintenance team members are meeting performance KPI's
  • Provides measurable performance expectations and holds team members accountable for delivering the goals
  • Regularly evaluates the development opportunities of the team, and provides a plan for success
  • Human capital & resourcing strategy to build the talent pipeline for skilled maintenance craft
  • May be assigned other duties as required

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 5 plus years of general maintenance/mechanical experience, including electrical, control systems, etc.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of adaptive technologies or methods as necessary
  • Bachelor's degree is not required but preferred
  • Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
  • Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation
