About the position
The Librarian position at Connecticut State Community College involves a range of professional responsibilities aimed at supporting the educational mission of the college. Responsibilities
- Provide public and reference services to students and faculty.
- Manage technical services including cataloging and inter-library loans.
- Oversee circulation management and collection development.
- Teach information literacy and library resource usage to students and faculty.
- Supervise library staff and participate in staff meetings and committees.
- Attend convocation and commencement ceremonies, and other events as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Library Science.
- One or more years of related experience in librarianship.
- Demonstrated ability in public services, reference, and technical services.
- Strong information literacy skills and experience in teaching library resources.
- Proven ability to work with diverse populations and excellent communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Two years of experience in an academic library setting.
- Experience in library instruction and information literacy instruction design.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and administering learning assessments.
